Day 1: Arrival in Bagdogra - Transfer to Gangtok
Upon arrival at Bagdogra Airport, you will be met by our representative who will assist you in your transfer to Gangtok (135kms/4.5hrs). Gangtok is the capital of the state of Sikkim and is known for its beautiful monasteries and landscapes. Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel and spend the evening at leisure. You may explore the local market or indulge in individual activities.
Note: The vehicle will depart from Bagdogra Airport to Gangtok Hotel at 1200 hrs. Guests are requested to reach Bagdogra Airport before 1200 hrs.
Day 2: Excursion to Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir
Start your day early for a day trip to Tsomgo Lake (12400ft), which is only 32kms from Gangtok City. The lake is almost 1km long, oval in shape, and 15mtrs deep. The lake is considered sacred by the local people. 18km further ahead, visit the New Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir dedicated to the memory of the soldier Harbhajan Singh. Spend the evening at leisure and overnight at Gangtok.
Note: In case of landslides or any other reason, Tsomgo Lake is closed, we will provide alternate sightseeing at Gangtok for the day. Nathula Pass visit will be on direct payment basis because it depends on availability of permit from the army and is subject to weather & road conditions. Nathula is closed to visitors on Monday and Tuesday.
Day 3: Gangtok to Pelling
After breakfast, check-out from the hotel and transfer to Pelling (7000ft, 128kms / 6 hrs appx). Pelling is a very small Himalayan village in West Sikkim. It offers a good sunrise and all-day long view of Kanchendzonga (3rd highest peak of the world) and the entire Eastern Himalayan range on a clear day. Check-in at the hotel and spend the evening at leisure. Overnight at Pelling.
Day 4: Pelling to Yuksom Excursion
After breakfast at the hotel, we will drive towards Yuksom, a small town located at an elevation of 5840 Ft/1780 Mts and a distance of 35 Kms/02 Hrs from Pelling. On the way, we will stop to admire the panoramic views of Darap Village, Rimbi Waterfalls, the Hydro Project and Khecheopalri Lake (6000 Ft / 1829 Mts). The lake is considered one of the most sacred Buddhist mountain lakes, and it is believed that whatever is wished in front of the lake comes true. Our next stop will be at Kanchanjunga Waterfalls, known for its splendid beauty and glory. Continuing our drive, we will reach Yuksom, also known as the "meeting place of three learned monks." This town was the first capital of Sikkim and the place where the first Chogyal (a ruling dynasty in Sikkim) was crowned. Later in the evening, we will return to Pelling and spend the night at the hotel.
Day 5: Pelling to Kalimpong (115 Kms / 04 hrs approx.)
After a delicious breakfast, we will proceed to Kalimpong, located at an elevation of 4091 Ft / 1247 Mts. We will check in to the hotel and enjoy an overnight stay.
Day 6: Kalimpong to Darjeeling (70 Kms / 03 Hrs)
After breakfast, we will visit Deolo Hills, the highest point in Kalimpong, offering a mesmerizing view of the surroundings. We will also visit Dr. Graham's Home, a unique school that can be called the "children's village in the Himalayas." Later, we will visit the Flower Nurseries, Jang-Dong-Palriffo Brang, and Durbin Dara Hills. After exploring Kalimpong, we will transfer to Darjeeling, located at an elevation of 7380 Ft/2250 Mts. We will spend the night at the hotel in Darjeeling.
Day 7: Darjeeling Sightseeing
We will start our day early with a visit to Tiger Hills (8364 Ft/2550 Mts at around 4 AM) to witness the captivating sunrise over the Kanchendzonga Peak (subject to clear weather). On our way back, we will stop at Ghoom Monastery and the Batasia Loop. After breakfast, we will go for a half-day sightseeing tour of the Japanese Temple, Peace Pagoda, Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, and the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (Closed on Thursday). We will also enjoy the Darjeeling Ropeway Ride (Ticket cost not included & will be approx INR 180.00 per person). Our next stop will be at Tenzing & Gombu Rock, where Tenzing Norway did his training. We will also visit the Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Center (Closed on Sunday) and get a scenic view of the lovely Tea Estate. We will spend the night at the hotel in Darjeeling.
Day 8: Departure from Darjeeling
After breakfast, we will check out from the hotel and proceed towards the Bagdogra Airport/Railway Station for our journey back home with wonderful memories of the trip.
